I cannot see my race in 3D, what do I do?

There are several issues that we have found causing people not to be able to see their races in 3D, they are:

1) Unity was not installed correctly or your plugin is not up to date

2) An internet security software on your computer is blocking access to the Unity

3) Your bandwidth is not good enough to download the track assets in a timely fashion

Below are workarounds for each of these:

1) Install or Reinstall the Unity Plugin manually:

  • Normally, this game requires Unity Web Player to run the races, if you haven’t installed before in your computer, the game will detect it and it will automatically advise you to install it from inside the game.
  • If this process fails for any reason, you can always install Unity Web Player manually from the Unity Web Player download website.
  • To do this, please click on the following link: http://www.unity3d.com/webplayer/
  • Once you have accessed the URL, please select your Operating System first and then please click on the “Download” blue button to start your download.
  • Up next, the installation file will be ready to be saved into your hard drive.
  • Once it has finished downloading, please go to your download folder and execute the file named “UnityWebPlayer.exe” and follow the instructions to install it.
  • Once the Unity Web Player Setup has finished, you should restart the browser the game is being played on, and then upon the browser starting again, restart the game.
  • When you select 3D race again, the game will download the required track’s 3D assets, which can take a few seconds to several minutes depending on your bandwidth. Once these are downloaded the first time you should not have to download them again.

2) Manually create an exception to your Internet Security Software for Unity:

  • Normally, this game requires Unity Web Player to run the races, if you haven’t installed before in your computer, the game will detect it and it will automatically advise you to install it from inside the game.
  • Sometimes, your Internet security software and/or antivirus could be preventing your races to run, this will vary depending on the computer’s security configuration and what version of your security software you are running.
  • Please be sure that your Antivirus is up-to-date and working properly.
  • If your Antivirus is up-to-date and your races are still being blocked, you can try these instructions to add our web player program to your antivirus exclusions. If you are using McAfee or Norton Antivirus please follow the next steps:
    • Using McAfee Antivirus:
      • Click Start, Programs, McAfee, VirusScan Console.
      • Right-click On-Access Scanner and select Properties.
      • Click All Processes, Detection, Exclusions….
      • Click the “Add” button and navigate to C:\Users\user_name\appdata\LocalLow\Unity and add the “WebPlayer” folder.
      • Click the “Apply” button at the bottom of the window and then the “OK” button.
    • Using Norton Antivirus:
      • Open Norton AntiVirus and click on the Settings link next to .the “Computer “category.
      • Under the “Exclusions/Low Risks” category, click the “Configure” link next to Scan Exclusions
      • Click the “Add” button and navigate to C:\Users\user_name\appdata\LocalLow\Unity and add the “WebPlayer” folder.
      • Click the “Apply” button at the bottom of the window and then the “OK” button.

3) If you are in a low bandwidth environment where you normally play the game and are having trouble getting the 3D assets downloaded in a timely fashion, it is important to know that once downloaded these assets are stored.  So you should wait until you are in a high bandwidth environment before you try and race in 3D for the first time, and race at each of your unlocked tracks when you are, thereby downloading all the assets at that time.  When you race in the future you will not have to download these assets again and your racing will be very quick.
